The Newcastle Bookshop was established over 30 years ago on the Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne, and I have been the owner since 1991. It is now located in the ancient market town of Haltwhistle, Northumberland, and is primarily a bindery where we repair antiquarian books. Before buying the bookshop I ran my own company, FIVEbyTWO, designing and making limited edition shirts. In addition to bookbinding, I now produce a limited number of presentational boxes and cases in which artists and photographers can showcase their work as prints or CD form. Ian Macdonald, Simon Norfolk, and Graham Smith are among the photographers with whom I have worked. I am always happy to discuss individual requirements concerning bookbinding skills and presentation work.
