About Us

Our entire business is structured in order to produce graphic design of the highest quality. We are three highly experienced creative directors (twenty plus years experience each as practicing designers), each of whom runs a small team. There are deliberately no non-designers. Every creative director manages, designs, takes responsibility for every detail of every project he takes on, however small. Which – in our opinion – is the only way to produce design of the highest order.

The way in which we judge our standards are that:
1) we consistently win international design awards,
2) our clients keep returning to us for further work (several of our client relationships have endured for over 10 years),
3) word-of-mouth about us and mentions of us in the press are admiring.

We are highly responsible people; the environmental issues raised in our industry can be addressed as part of the design solution. We recommend and use post-consumer or unbleached paper in our projects. Approximately 20-30% do so. Almost all our projects use paper grown in sustainable forests. Our preferred printers subscribe to the FSC code of practice, using water based inks and varnishes and we try to avoid harmful processes such as lamination and excessive use of non-biodegradable plastics.

Digital files such as PDF and emails now replace the high volume of faxes and photocopies of old. All our printer toner cartridges, all our studio paper, and all our redundant equipment are recycled. (We have just completed all the design work for the RSA WEEE project.)

Despite the impression given by paper companies, there is a limited range of recycled stock, which actually gives decent printing results. As far as we are aware following this kind of 'environmentally' conscious practice can sometimes increase costs; for example, properly sourced and treated papers are often more responsible than those that source pulp indiscriminately or use harmful bleaches.

And finally, as Cole porter famously said, "All I ever needed was a phone call from the producer"
